Leading energy storage provider sets new bar for quality assurance in the industry
MONROVIA (Sep. 11, 2014) – Today, energy storage leader CODA Energy announced that it has received both ISO 14001: 2004 and 9001: 2008 certifications from the International Organization for Standardization, an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards.
CODA Energy designs and builds scalable energy storage solutions that support a smarter, cleaner, and more resilient grid, with manufacturing based in Monrovia, CA. With the energy storage market expected to rise to $50 billion by 2020, attaining certifications of manufacturing processes and management standards will enable CODA Energy to be a leader in the marketplace. These standards convey a guarantee of repeatability, and quality and allow for increased operational scaling.
“With 5 MWh of CODA energy storage in pipeline to be installed for 2014, we are pleased to offer our energy storage customers the additional assurance that ISO certifies,” said John Bryan, Vice President of Product and Marketing at CODA Energy. “As a follow up to the achievement of 1973’ safety standards certification from UL (Underwriters Laboratories), our decision to pursue these ISO certifications demonstrates our company’s long term commitment to our customers and the rapidly growing market.”
CODA’s ISO 9001 governs CODA’s quality management systems for manufacturing, assuring that products conform to customer and regulatory standards of continuous quality and improvement. Achieving ISO 14001 status demonstrates the company’s capability to set up an effective environmental management system, ensuring that the company’s products will continue to operate safely, reliably and at high performance, and provide external stakeholders assurances that environmental impacts are being measured and improved. These standards are implemented by over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries.
Meeting these standards in combination with CODA’s 40kWh high-voltage system being the first commercial scale energy storage system specifically targeted for behind-the-meter use to be subjected to UL 1973 and pass, defines a new era in standardization in the energy storage market.
CODA Energy also recently announced the commercial operation of the first grid-tied, solar-integrated EV (electric vehicle) fast charging station optimized by energy storage in partnership with Growing Energy Labs Inc. (Geli), Energy Vault, and the City of Benicia. To stay current with the latest CODA Energy news, follow the company at @CODAEnergy or visit www.CODAEnergy.com
