Installation Technician 

Job Description:

The Installation Technician arranges and executes installation of CODA Energy Storage products and is capable of diagnostics, repairs, and field countermeasure executions associated with challenges that can arise during an installation. The Installation Technician will be capable of self-managing during travel and getting the job done while maintaining professionalism, at all times, but especially while onsite with customers. The Installation Technician validates and reports all installations and repairs and makes every effort to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Essential Functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops expertise in the functionality of CODA systems in order to provide diagnostic and Installation support
  • Assists in evaluating live data from the deployed towers to aide in early issue detection and collection of performance trends and metrics
  • Provides feedback to team members in Quality, Engineering, Installation and Services on the real world issues experienced during installations to drive quality and product development especially in the area of installation cost optimization
  • Assists with training modules to certify 3rd party installers
  • Continually strives to be at the leading edge of the technical support team’s ability curve
  • Looks for ways to reduce costs and robustness of installation for the company
  • Proactively communicates schedule of activities, project status, schedule slips, challenges, and roadblocks to key stakeholders
  • Keeps detailed records of work performed and accurately prepares timesheet
  • Tracks and prioritizes workflow - pending requests and recommendations
  • Reports to National Installation Manager

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 3 to 5 years of electrical experience preferred
  • Technical service experience in a customer-facing environment strongly preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and grasp of electrical theory essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to produce clear, understandable, professional materials
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical specifications for electrical components and design
  • Ability to use hand and power tools proficiently
  • Ability to solve problems by identifying root causes, analyzing possible solutions, and taking appropriate action
  • Works well with deadlines
  • Works well in a team environment and has the ability to quickly develop rapport and maintain relationships
  • Current knowledge of local building codes involving electrical equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Windows based PC skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Follows all CODA Energy, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposal in required areas
  • 40% travel is expected although may exceed this periodically

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of both office and outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions
  • Requires walking or standing for an extended periods of time
  • Requires working overhead and in tight spaces for extended periods of time
  • Requires full body mobility and being able to twist, turn, bend at the waist, squat and go up and down stairs
  • Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

The Senior Software Engineer will help design and code the master controller for the Energy Storage Solution. This controller will communicate with battery towers, power electronics, battery safety systems, host controllers, HVAC systems and other miscellaneous controllers over Modbus TCP/IP connections. The individual will lead development of software requirements, architecture, and design documents, flow charts and software modules and will also help with software module level validation to meet the product’s high level specifications. The position requires solid understanding of the products from the system architecture through module level design. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of product development, including conceptual, developmental and production phases.

Essential Functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Edit and improve software requirements, software architecture and software design documentation
  • Code C/C++ Software modules using multiple threads and the BOOST libraries
  • Participate in or lead teams tasked with completing the software development
  • Participate in system level design review
  • Leading and coaching junior engineers and technicians in various engineering assignments
  • Set development goals and metrics and provide progress reports
  • Lead new product development activities, thrive in a concurring engineering environment and bring products to final production
  • Reports to the Director of Engineering

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BSEE or equivalent from an accredited institution required
  • 5+ years of experience working in a product development environment
  • Knowledge of software requirements, architecture and documentation
  • Experience designing and developing software applications, tools, systems, and services using Object-Oriented Design
  • In-depth understanding of communication interfaces including RS485, MODBUS, TCP/IP and CAN
  • High level software experience (i.e. LabView, C/C++, Visual Basic, Pspice, Matlab and PLC)
  • Complex systems integration and testing knowledge (planning and execution)
  • Work in an agile (SCRUM) engineering environment
  • Ability to plan and undertake root cause investigations and determinations
  • Proficiency in engineering design, analysis, integration, debug, manufacturing, and documentation tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and flowcharts
  • Experienced with EE lab equipment such as multi-meters, power meters, signal sources, and oscilloscopes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, collaborative skills, and cross-functional interface skills
  • Effective communication of project results in written reports and presentations
  • Ability to solve problems by identifying root causes, analyzing possible solutions, and taking appropriate action

Project Manager

Job Description:

The Project Manager will help define project objectives, create schedules, and oversee quality control throughout the entire project. This will require coordination of resources, managing the team and third-party contractors and/or consultants, identifying, assessing and minimizing risk. The individual will lead development of project schedules, design documents, flow charts and will also monitor progress, generate KPIs to track project status and organize review meetings as necessary.

The position requires solid understanding of the project management from the concept architecture through design and completion. The ideal candidate should have a broad understanding of product development, team management, and prioritization of multiple projects.

Essential Functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage project development from initiation to closure
  • Be accountable for project results along with project sponsor
  • Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budgeting and timing
  • Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task
  • Provide project schedule to identify when each task will be performed and clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Work with city, state, and local governments and officials for interconnection and site permit work
  • Assist in scheduling resources based on project priority
  • Reports to the Vice President of Operations

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS/BA required, MBA desired
  • MS Project and project planning tools experience required
  • Ability to plan projects with accurate completion estimations
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Work in an agile (SCRUM) engineering environment
  • Ability to plan and undertake root cause investigations and determinations
  • Successful candidates must be flexible, pro-active, and willing to dedicate necessary efforts to meet team objectives
